Welcome to the mountains
Abbiamo voluto chiamare la nostra struttura con un nome semplice: "laba" in cimbro significa "pozza", "haus" significa "casa". Labahaus vuole sottolineare l'appartenenza al territorio, il radicamento nella contrada, sia di questo piccolo appartamento sia degli abitanti del posto, e la genuinità che contraddistingue la montagna. Contrà Pozza è una delle circa 130 contrade di Valli del Pasubio, un piccolo Comune montano (350 m/slm) di circa 3000 abitanti in Provincia di Vicenza.
La Pozza, che conta una trentina di abitanti, è posizionata a 726 m/slm, e risulta essere una delle più lontane dal centro del paese, ma una delle più attive dal punto di vista del lavoro sul territorio e agricolo: non fu mai abbandonata nel corso degli anni '60-'70, periodo in cui una buona parte di valligiani lasciò il territorio per trasferirsi in luoghi più vicini alle industrie.
L'amore per il nostro territorio ci ha spinti a ristrutturare questa abitazione, per offrire al turista un soggiorno in cui poter assaporare la vita di contrada, oppure rilassarsi tra i colori e i suoni della natura in cui essa è immersa. Si può inoltre creare un soggiorno più attivo, scegliendo tra passeggiate leggere o camminate più impegnative, di cui il territorio è ricco.
L'ambiente è molto tranquillo, il rumore del traffico è sostituito dai suoni della natura, accompagnati dal borbottare di qualche mezzo agricolo che accompagna il lavoro nei campi o nei boschi.
We wanted to
give our facility a simple name: "laba" in Cimbrian means "pond",
"haus" means "house". The name Labahaus intends emphasising the fact
that both this small flat and the local inhabitants are part of the surrounding
area, that they are rooted in the "contrada" (hamlet), besides underscoring the
authenticity which characterises the mountains. Contrà Pozza is one of about
130 "hamlets" of Valli del Pasubio, a small mountain town (350 m above sea
level) with about 3,000 inhabitants in the Province of Vicenza.
Pozza, which has about 30 inhabitants, is located at 726 metres above sea level, and is one of the furthest from the town centre, but also one of the most active from the point of view of land tenure and agricultural work. Unlike many other areas, it was never abandoned in the 1960s and 1970s, a period in which a large number of valley dwellers left the area to move to places closer to industrial sites.
The love we have for our land has led us to renovate the building, so as to provide visitors with a stay during which they can enjoy the life of the hamlet, or else relax amidst the colours and sounds of the surrounding natural environment. Those seeking a more active holiday are spoilt for choice as the area is full of nature and hiking trails, some of which easy and others more challenging.
The surroundings are quiet and relaxing. The noise of traffic is replaced by the sounds of nature, accompanied by the distant clatter of the odd farm vehicle at work in the fields or woods.
